Compare & Contrast

Mac takes all of the reading comprehension out of comparing products. I love this detailed chart.

My Cochenovela

I drive a blue Subaru TS Sport Wagon. Sometimes I love it; sometimes I am angry about it. Today my car displeased me by having a flat tire. When entering my car this morning, I checked the passenger side carefully because a car right in front of my building had been broken into last night and my car has a nick in the window where someone tried to break in. I was so great full that this time it was not me. The drive to work this morning seemed a little less cushiony because the car did not glide over potholes and bumps in the road as it usually does, but I did not have much time to think about it because I was running late. A coworker came back to lunch and informed me that I did indeed have a flat tire! Luckily, my boyfriend saved the day! Not only did he take it off in order to put on the spare, but he also determined that it was just a nail so he is taking it to Firestone for patching. Currently my car is still on the Jack. I hope you are all having a good car day!

How Many Mics by the Fugees

After reading the Sin & Sintax book, I heard this song. The precise word choices allow me to visualize the concepts and let the singer lead me through the story. What keeps me interested in listening to the entire story is the beat created from the rhyming words. Below is an excerpt I found from this website: http://user.aol.com/Snicka/lyrics2.htm

I get mad frustrated when I rhyme
Thinking of all them kids that try to do this
For all the wrong reasons
Seasons change, mad things rearrange
But it all stays the same like the love Doctor Strange
I'm tame like the rapper
Get red like the snapper
When they do that
Got your whole block saying "true dat"
If only they knew that
It was you who was irregular
Sold your soul to some secular
Muzac that's wack
Plus you use that loop over and over
Claiming that you have a new style
Your attempts are futile
Ooh child your puerile
Brain waves are sterile
You can't create you just wait to take my tape
Laced with malice
Hands get callused
From ripping microphones from here to Dallas
Go ask Alice if you don't believe me
I get inner visions like Stevie
See me, ascend from the chalice like the weed be
Indeed be like Khalid Muhammad
MCs make me vomit
I get controversial
Freak your style with no rehearsal
Ooh contraire mon frer
Don't you even go there
Me without a mic is like a beat without a snare
I dare to tear into your ego
We go, way back like some ganja and pelequo
Or Coleco Vision
My mind makes incisions in your anatomy
And I'll banish with Deutoronomy
Or Leviticus, God made this word
You can't get with this
Sweet like licorice
Dangerous like syphilis

Acorn Squash

Last year I attempted to cook squash, but it came out terribly undercooked. This year I learned from my mistakes and made some delicious acorn squash. My secret is to leave it in the oven fortwice the recommended time. Instead of 30 min, I cooked it for an hour. It was quite tasty.

My First Post

Hello. This is my blog.

I signed up for the new beta blog because it looked fun. Apparently if you have a beta account, you can only post comments to other beta account holders. I missed that part when converting.... So I switched it back! Now I can post comments!!!!
